Dechen Lhamo, from France, has been visiting Nepal, and more specifically Boudha Nath since 1994. She worked in the UK in Finance for 12 years, learned Tibetan in 1999, and is now studying in a Shedra (monastic institution dedicated to the study of Buddhist philosophical texts) in Nepal. She has been helping with APHO since 2009, finding sponsors for the most destitute, and helping to build bridges between people from the West wanting to help and the ones in need of help in the Boudha Nath area.
